Rockin’ Referrer: Best platform choices for the crypto ecosystem

In previous episodes of our Rockin’ referrer series, we’ve talked about different platforms that are available to us when we want to create a community and make it thrive but we’ve done that separately. Today, we’re going to try to figure out which ones are the best and most suitable for the crypto ecosystem and point out some basic rules about them.

The ideal would be of course to establish an acquisition strategy that uses all available media and this is something that is quite feasible when you are in a structure with a sufficient marketing team. When you try to grow your community alone, it is not necessarily possible to wear all the hats.

We will propose here and in the next episodes two possible paths depending on whether or not you have the skills to edit videos and we will remind you of the basic rules to respect for each platform.

You have editing skills (Youtube, TikTok, and Discord)

You have video editing skills and that’s great news because as you know, people are more receptive to visual information than written information. Ideally, you should choose a platform on which to share your analysis or information, here we will focus on Youtube and use TikTok to tease our content. We will then need a place to “meet” the community and for that, we will choose Discord.

A little reminder of best practices

Youtube

Be consistent

This is the #1 rule of success on YouTube. If you make humorous videos, people will come back for MORE humorous videos. If you analyze the financial markets, that’s why your viewers will come back. This may seem obvious, but many people don’t make this connection. It is this consistency that will build your brand.

Straight to the point!

No one has time to watch long video introductions. If you haven’t hooked viewers in the first 10 seconds, they’ll leave. And that’s not going to get any better, as our attention span decreases over the years.

You got it, you keep it

Getting your viewers’ attention is mandatory to get them to watch the video, but that won’t be enough, you have to be dynamic! This means that you have to change what your viewer sees or pays attention to quite often, as longer takes tend to bore us.

Don’t drag it out

Beating around the bush doesn’t work on YouTube. Viewers will try to consume your content quickly and if they get caught in an ad, they’ll leave. This is especially true for newcomers. They are much less likely to wait for you to deliver something to them.

TikTok

Get into influencer marketing

TikTok‘s influencer marketing is an important part of the app’s ecosystem. Mega-stars can have a huge impact on a company’s success (tens of millions of users watch their content every day).

Create your own TikTok

This option gives you the most freedom. Open a business TikTok account for your brand and start creating your own organic content.

The 8-second rule

If TikTok can teach us one golden rule of content marketing, it’s speed. With a never-ending stream of consumable content at our fingertips, there’s no denying that audiences have an extremely fine filter for retaining only what interests them – and quickly.

Discord

Define the goals of your community on Discord

The first step, even before creating the server itself, is to define the goal of your community. This could be, for example, sharing relevant analysis on the crypto market or a place to share knowledge on algorithmic trading. The possibilities are endless.

Creation of the server

Well, the objectives have been set, and it’s time to get to the heart of the matter: creating the server itself.

Creation of rooms

Once you have created your Discord server, we move on to the creation of the different rooms. These are channels of discussion specific to a particular theme (so as not to mix everything).

Animation

A Discord community needs animation to grow and last. The users of your server probably have very specific expectations when they join: the need to belong to a friendly community, to meet other traders, to get advice, etc. In short, you’ll have to animate all this so that your Discord community will flourish.

Conclusion

The most important aspect of your work will be planned because you can’t become a Youtuber overnight. Youtube will be your business card, your brand image, and your way of transmitting the information.

You will use Youtube to share your analysis or your trading algorithm coding sessions, by doing tutorials for example. It can also be interesting to stream live, especially if you have a successful trading strategy.

TikTok will allow you to send capsules, including the best moments of your video, to make your followers want to watch the whole video.

Finally, Discord will be your agora, the place where you can meet your community and build a trusting and more personal relationship than on other media.

Next week we’ll talk about the other case, if you don’t have video editing skills, which will naturally lead us to a blog or Twitter.
